The Language of Leadership

Coming LATE 2026 · Register your interest

A working manual for the leader who has been doing the impossible, at a cost, and is ready for it to be different.

A note from me to you.

I wrote this book for the leader I was trying to become 30 years ago, and for the leaders I sit across from in coaching rooms today. The ones who care, who are exhausted, and who are trying to do the impossible, and are looking for capacity to change what is happening to them.

If that is you, this book is for you.

Register below and I will let you know when it is ready. I will also send you the occasional note between now and then, from the rooms I am in, so you have somewhere to keep building the language with me.

Leadership is about position, not personality

Where you stand makes a significant difference to the safety of those you lead. And yours.

60% of new managers receive little to no formal preparation for the shift from doing the work to leading it.
You are not the exception.
The system was designed that way.

Who this book is for.

  • You have been handed the results and the blame for them, without ever being handed the system that would make the results possible.

  • You care about your team. And you are exhausted. And you are not sure what would actually help.

  • You have been in leadership rooms for years, and you have never quite had the words for what you were watching happen.

  • You know something has to change in how leadership gets done, and you have been waiting for someone to name it.

What the book is.

A working manual for the 60% of leaders who were promoted for being excellent at the work, without ever being taught how to lead. This was not personal. It was systemic. Built from a decade of coaching, tested in rooms where the pressure was real, and shaped by the leaders who told me they had been searching for exactly this.

It is not a memoir. It is not a framework.

It is a language, because leadership is not a set of principles you memorise. It is a conversation you learn to hold with the people around you, in the moments that most matter.

How the book works.

Every chapter follows the same rhythm.

  • Knowledge. A working piece of the language, grounded in a real story, so it lands in your body before it lands in your head.

  • Reflection. A question that meets you where you are.

  • Practice. Something small enough to try in your next meeting.

  • AI as your ongoing coach. A prompt at the end of every chapter that turns your AI tool into a reflective partner. So the language keeps building after you close the book.
